BUILDING ORGANIZATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
The National Dance Institute’s new executive director was hired from the for-profit world. When she was handed a $20 million capital campaign to run, she turned to us. The campaign goal included $8.5 million for operating reserves, mission-related funds, and a building reserve intended to secure the organization’s future—a visionary move by the board but not the easiest money to raise. In addition to developing a Capital Campaign Fundraising Plan, our team of Katherine DeFoyd, Joyce Isabelle, and Eve Peterson was instrumental in securing an $800,000 Institutional Capitalization grant from the Kresge Foundation to fully fund the building reserve. As part of the Kresge process, we helped draft a Capitalization Plan, a three-year Business Plan, a Strategic Plan update, a Funds and Reserves Policy, and a Systems Replacement Plan. The depth and breadth of our work positioned NDI’s new executive director, staff, and board for lasting success.
“National Dance Institute is unquestionably a stronger organization today because of Growth for Good’s involvement and support.”
