When Growth for Good is asked to help a nonprofit produce an event, we begin with a careful review of past efforts and outcomes or an “Event Audit.” The premise is: “That which can be measured can be improved.” During the audit, we review who brought in what by when, each source of income, expenses, format and the past schedule of communications. This helps to determine revenue growth potential. We brainstorm with the staff on specific steps to improve event outcomes. Alternate event formats, pricing, increasing in-kind contributions, additional income strategies (e.g. journal, auction, raffle, wine pull), engaging volunteers, and creating attractive branding are all taken under consideration. Recommendations are made as to which honorees could be cultivated to bring Cash not just Cachet.
This Event Audit provides an assessment of strengths, weaknesses, and potential. This then becomes the base for us to help leadership, staff, and stakeholders set agreed-upon goals, priorities, and responsibilities. Out of this process, a realistic and achievable event plan is developed. Growth for Good also provides event production (e.g. executive the event plan) and day-of support services.
