SECURING PUBLIC AND PRIVATE DOLLARS TO GROW A BOTANICAL GARDEN

The Queens Botanical Garden’s multiyear capital campaign—Room to Grow—will enable the organization to serve significantly more children and adults. Our partner Katherine DeFoyd is providing strategies, coaching, and support to ensure success from the first steps—brainstorming the campaign name, developing the brand, and creating the case for support, which provides the language, look, feel, and images for external communications—all the way to the close of the campaign. She has established a methodology for unearthing new major donor prospects from the database of past donors, and has helped win key private foundation grants to position the garden for the complex process of securing critical New York State and City dollars. The campaign will soon be 90 percent complete and ready to enter the public phase.

“Growth For Good has been incredibly helpful getting our Capital Campaign off the ground—strategizing, developing campaign materials, identifying prospective funders, and everything in between. Katherine is an all-around player who is ready and willing to pitch in wherever needed. Her experience in government is an incredible asset and she is delightful to work with.”
