INTERIM CHIEF DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER – BUILDING TEAMS
Claudia Zeldin stepped in part-time to oversee and build Women in Need’s institutional, individual, and corporate giving staff while they searched for a new chief development team leader. Even with a year-end giving campaign and two annual galas to plan, it was not just a “keep the trains running” assignment. Claudia stepped in just as the influx of hundreds of asylum-seeking families arrived at WIN’s temporary and transitional homeless shelters, so Claudia worked closely with CEO Christine Quinn and the leadership and external relations teams to execute a bilingual, digital appeal and a virtual donor briefing event on the migrant crisis. Claudia provided governance consulting to WIN’s Board Executive Committee in advance of a leadership transition and energized the Board Development Committee. While at WIN, Claudia also successfully onboarded a Director of Major Gifts, a Development Coordinator, and the new Chief Development and Communications Officer – helping to build a unified team culture.
