INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – CAPACITY BUILDING DURING SABBATICAL

Our partner Claudia Zeldin served as part-time Executive Director at Youth Communication while their ED went on emergency leave to care for a loved one. Although it was for only six months, it was at a critical stage in the organization’s growth. While at Youth Communication, Claudia was launched a capacity-building fundraising campaign, a mid-year individual donor appeal with a “board match”, and a new earned-income event with venue and media sponsorship. She worked closely with Youth Comm’s staff and board leadership to onboard a new board member and instituted a board recruitment and nominating practices. Claudia oversaw the hiring and onboarding of a new senior editor and director of marketing, plus established a practice for employing summer interns.
